Chorus cicada

Over the past week or two we have been learning about native insects I chose cicadas because I like the way they sound and they look quite cool. First I had to fill in some research about cicadas. We also had to write some fun facts so I learned that cicadas don’t like the smell of mint and vinegar. Then I had to draw a picture of a cicada and I also had to put in a real image of the chorus cicada. I didn’t know these fun facts about cicadas so it was cool to learn them.

Matariki

Today we made the Matariki Star Cluster. In a group of 3 we coloured and cut out 3 of the Matariki star cluster. We had to work together to get the colours matching so when we put it together it matched. Then we glued the stars together on black paper and got the Pleiades star cluster. Have you ever heard of Matariki? It is the beginning of the Maori New Year and happens in the winter months.

SLJ my rock pool

This is my SLJ project and it is a rock pool. I put in fish a starfish and a crab. I put it on my blog so you can see what I am doing. I would like it if you share with friends

my media

Today we were learning about all the different types of media like print, broadcasting, and online. These are a few things I found in the different categories.

The flying sheep

Once upon a time there was a meadow with a shepherd. They were getting this type of juice and after drinking it they started to float and started flying in the sky.

Once they stopped flying they flew like a plane and landed on the airport runway. They were so pleased to be on the ground they ran back to the farm and ate some fresh grass. There was a sheep that didn’t come down so there was one single that lived in the sky.

The one sheep in the sky came down because it was lonely with no other sheep to play with after a month of being in the sky. As it came down the other sheep went to see it and then they went into a big white fluffy ball rolled down the big hill to a stop in the middle of the paddock and ate some fresh lush grass. The sheep though that they had an amazing day seeing there old but the farmer though he the weirdest day of his life seeing a sheep float to the paddock and seeing a sheep ball in the paddock. The sheep went to bed and had a nap because they were tired from a big day. The next day the sheep went to play in the meadow and started floating again.

Fairtrade

I think fairtrade is a good idea because farmers and other different kinds of jobs and get a good, correct and maximum amount of income so they can get a good profit.

If we get rid of or even not have fair trade some farmers would have employees get an incorrect amount of money so the cocoa workers will stop there jobs and the world would have a shortage of chocolate and chocolate products like Lindor, Cadbury and  Whittakers would stop there shops because exporters would stop shipping because of no cocoa beans.
